I still feel my game runs flawlessly in two different computers because of miracle pills or something. But after seeing the buggy mess this game is I refrained from it. Even released one cosmetic mod in the old forums that got closed or whatever. Originally posted by Hanuke:I used to mod in XV1. The only glitch that ever caused me problems was the boss disappearing from the map in Expert Missions.Īs for mods I really only use texture mods that I make myself but have messed around with some of the other mods that alter scripts and what not like the expanded roster, unlock all characters, custom Super Souls, etc, but it's all stuff I eventually delete as they cause a problem somewhere or another or do something that annoys me. I thankfully haven't had the amount of problems people are having with the game. So I'll still keep telling people to play it as safe as they can when modding, and to make backups of whatever they can. Mostly if what we see in these forums about so many people having trouble even getting the vanilla game to start may serve as a stat (though I fully know that most people with a working game don't post in forums, and that's usually and hopefully the majority of players, but still). Thankfully there's really no reason anymore to use anyone's custom_skill file since there are now tools that let anyone do it themselves very easily. The mistake a lot of people seem to make with the mods is using too many different mods or multiple mods that edit the same files most notably the "custom_skills" file which the majority of the XV2 mods edit. And even then the game is a bug fest so even properly installed mods can fail. This is why I'm beginning to tell people to either don't use mods at all if they are not 100% sure of what they are doing. If you didn't have a backup from before the mod then you are pretty much SOL. Originally posted by Hanuke:Probably your save already got corrupted.
